FORCE MULTIPLIER 24
Sometimes there just aren't enough primary resources to address an acute need. Storms, fires, explosions, and similar events require response. The communications to coordinate response are also often impacted by the same events. But that does not mean that responders have to work blindly.
Auxiliary communication (AUXCOMM) systems and their operators can be a force multiplier, covering not only the gap left by the systems impacted by the event, but the eyes and ears needed to gather ground truth information.
Such was the scenario for 3-4 August 2024, FORCE MULTIPLIER 24, a followup from the Keystone 6 Ohio communications exercise in May, and rehearsal for an upcoming exercise in September. See the QTC mailing list for additional detail, topic #FM24.
